FIFA has thrown Russia out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar

These decisions were made by the Bureau of the FIFA Council and the Executive Committee of UEFA, respectively the highest decision-making bodies in both institutions. Football is fully united here and in full solidarity with all those affected by the conflict in Ukraine. Both Presidents hope that the situation in Ukraine will improve significantly and rapidly, so that football can again serve as a catalyst for peace and unity among people.

FIFA condemns the use of force by Russia in Ukraine and any form of violence involved in conflict resolution. Violent conflict is never a solution, and FIFA calls on all parties to make peace through constructive dialogue. FIFA also expresses our solidarity with those affected by this conflict.
